Master of Philosophy in Teacher Education
Department of Secondary Teacher Education offers MPhil in Teacher Education Program that is designed to prepare scholars who have grasp of the knowledge of discipline of Education in general and Teacher Education in particular. This program establishes a cadre of specialists and professionals who can contribute to the body of knowledge by guiding and conducting high level research. It provides opportunities to teachers to enhance their professional knowledge and competency to perform their roles in the classrooms; schools and community in a better and more effective way. Teaching in today’s classroom is different than teaching in the Yesterday’s classrooms and it would be way different and more challenging in tomorrow’s classrooms. MPhil in Teacher Education through various courses of 24 credit hours and research thesis of 12 credit hours aims to equip scholars with necessary knowledge; skills and dispositions to effectively perform their responsibilities as a teacher, researcher and practitioner.
Applicants for MPhil Teacher Education must possess MEd/BS Ed/MA or BEd (4 Years) degree in education with at least 2nd division or equivalent 2.5 out of 4.00 CGPA under semester system.
Valid GAT (General) result or GU Admission Entry Test result with at least 60% marks.
